TNZ PROCESS

TRUE NET ZERO

Each of the resulting products produced from the wide range of RockFuel process is TRUE NET ZERO. That means the whole process from start to finish has an emissions balance of zero.

It's all about the chemistry

The key component in the RockFuel process is Carbon Dioxide (CO2). This is extracted from limestone rock by heating in our special kiln.

The solid product left afterwards is called Calcium Oxide (CaCO3).  When Calcium Oxide is exposed to the atmosphere it absorbs CO2 from the atmosphere, much like a sponge in water.

See our video for a non technical explanation.

Our Emissions

Each of our fuel products such as TNZ Diesel, TNZ Kerosene, etc produce emissions at the point of consumption. This is indeed part of the consumption process to produce the required energy.

However, the these emissions are fully balanced by our absorptions to the make the whole process TRUE NET ZERO.

Our absorptions

The absorptions come from the Calcium Oxide, be that in its native form or products that are produced from it.

It is a completely natural, passive and automatic process for the CO2 absorption to take place.

It is possible to make some of the RockFuel processes NET NEGATIVE by placing Calcium Oxide in sea water. This process can be very beneficial for polluted marine environments.
